I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. I provide superbills (detailed receipts) you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

I do not guarantee insurance reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary by plan. Verify your out-of-network mental health benefits before beginning therapy.Fee Changes

I reserve the right to adjust fees with 30 days written notice to current clients. New clients will be charged current rates at time of booking.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Cancellation Policy

Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full session fee. Cancellations with 24+ hours notice are not charged.

How to cancel: Email reevescedric@protonmail.com or call/text 786-877-0932.

No-Show Policy

Failure to attend a scheduled session without prior notice (“no-show”) results in a full session fee charge.

Late Arrival

Sessions begin and end at scheduled times. If you arrive late, the session will end at the originally scheduled time. You are charged the full session fee regardless of late arrival.

Therapist Cancellation

If I must cancel a session due to illness or emergency, you will not be charged. We will reschedule at the earliest mutual availability.

Rationale

This policy ensures availability for all clients and respects time reserved for your care. Frequent cancellations or no-shows may result in termination of therapy services.

Telehealth Requirements & Limitations

Technology Requirements

To participate in telehealth sessions, you must have:

  • Reliable internet connection — Video quality matters for effective therapy
  • Private, confidential space — Free from interruptions during sessions
  • Computer, tablet, or smartphone — Computer or tablet recommended for optimal experience
  • Quiet environment — Headphones can help ensure confidentiality

Platform

Sessions are conducted via [specify platform: Zoom with HIPAA BAA, SimplePractice video, Doxy.me, etc.], a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You will receive a link before your session.

Technical Difficulties

If technical difficulties occur during a session:

  • We will troubleshoot together via phone
  • If video cannot be restored, we will continue via phone (with your consent)
  • If neither video nor phone is available, the session will be rescheduled

You are responsible for ensuring adequate technology and internet connection. Technical difficulties on your end do not waive payment responsibility if session time has begun.

Physical Location Requirement

You must be physically located in Colorado during all therapy sessions. Services cannot be provided to clients located outside Colorado, even temporarily. Violating this requirement may result in immediate termination of therapy services.

Privacy & Safety

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring privacy during sessions (no one else present without prior consent)
  • Not recording sessions (without explicit written consent)
  • Not being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during sessions

Failure to maintain appropriate session conditions may result in session termination and full fee charge.

Confidentiality & Privacy

All therapy communications are confidential and protected under HIPAA and Colorado law, with specific exceptions required by law:

Mandatory Reporting (Colorado C.R.S. § 19-3-304, § 26-3.1-101)

I am required to report:

  • Child abuse or neglect — Suspected abuse or neglect of a child under 18
  • Elder abuse or neglect — Suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of adults 70+ or at-risk adults
  • Imminent danger to self or others — If you pose a serious and imminent threat of physical harm to yourself or an identifiable third party

Court Orders

Valid court orders or subpoenas may require disclosure of therapy information. I will notify you and assert privilege when legally permissible.

Clinical Supervision

As an LPCC, I receive clinical supervision from Shannon Heers, LPC #4786. Your clinical information may be shared with my supervisor for case consultation, treatment planning, and professional development. All supervision discussions are confidential and comply with HIPAA.

For complete details on confidentiality, see the Privacy Policy and Informed Consent documents.

  • Scheduling and attending your first therapy session

Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Psychology Today, insurance verification sites). I am not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of third-party websites.

Liability & Disclaimers

No Guarantees of Outcomes

Therapy outcomes vary by individual. I do not guarantee specific results, symptom elimination, or “cures.” Therapy is a collaborative process requiring active participation.

Realistic expectations: Many clients experience meaningful improvement in emotional well-being, relationship functioning, and life satisfaction. However, therapy cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cedric Reeves, LPCC, is not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from therapy services
  • Technical difficulties with telehealth platforms beyond my control
  • Unauthorized access to communications despite HIPAA-compliant security measures
  • Decisions you make based on information provided during therapy

Professional Liability Insurance

I maintain professional liability insurance as required by Colorado law and ethical standards.

Website Availability

I do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free website access. The website may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond my control.

Telehealth Risks

While I use secure, HIPAA-compliant technology, no system is 100% secure. Risks of telehealth include:

  • Potential unauthorized access to communications (hacking, security breaches)
  • Technical failures interrupting sessions
  • Misunderstandings due to lack of in-person non-verbal cues

By engaging in telehealth services, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Termination of Services

Client-Initiated Termination

You may terminate therapy services at any time by notifying me via email or phone. No penalty or fee applies for termination (beyond payment for sessions already provided).

Therapist-Initiated Termination

I may terminate therapy services if:

  • Non-payment — Failure to pay for services renders therapy unsustainable
  • Frequent cancellations/no-shows — Chronic unreliability disrupts therapeutic progress
  • Violation of Terms — Violating these Terms (e.g., recording sessions, intoxication during sessions, threats)
  • Out-of-scope needs — If your needs exceed my scope of practice or expertise, I will provide referrals
  • Ethical concerns — If continuing therapy would violate ethical guidelines (e.g., dual relationships, boundary violations)
  • Geographic non-compliance — If you relocate outside Colorado or attend sessions from outside Colorado

I will provide reasonable notice and referrals when terminating services, except in cases of safety concerns or ethical violations requiring immediate termination.

Mutual Termination

When therapy goals are achieved or progress plateaus, we will collaboratively discuss termination and aftercare planning.

Changes to These Terms

I reserve the right to update these Terms to reflect changes in legal requirements, practice operations, or professional standards. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Website notification — Updated effective date at top of this page
  • Email notification — For current clients, email notification of significant changes

Your continued use of therapy services or this website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Current Version: v2.0, effective November 10, 2025

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from therapy services or these Terms will be resolved in Colorado courts.

Dispute Resolution

If disputes arise, I encourage:

  1. Direct Communication — Discussing concerns openly with me first
  2. Mediation — If direct communication fails, voluntary mediation may resolve disputes amicably

Arbitration

If mediation fails, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with Colorado law, rather than litigation. Arbitration is typically faster and less costly than court proceedings.

Legal Action

If arbitration is not pursued, any legal action must be filed in Colorado courts with jurisdiction over Denver County.
